Error Opening Installation Log File Bluestacks For Windows

Here I fixed Bluestack installation failed MSI log file error. It's say Hmm. It seems Bluestack App Player couldn't be install on this computer.

It seems is as if the installer is using part of the file name itself as arguments passed to the file's execution.

I was trying to update to BlueStacks 2 after having used a previous version for a while, but kept running into a persistent error:

  1. I had accidentally double-clicked upon the download link from the official site and so two downloads started; I canceled the one that was going a bit slower. When installing, another window for Microsoft Installer would pop up. If I clicked OK then the install would fail. If I didn't click OK then the installation would hang indefinitely until I did click OK. I figured something might have not saved right and the installer was tripping on that.

  2. I re-downloaded a new copy of the installer and had another error: I had renamed the file to just BlueStacks2 because of Cat Error On Keyboard mangled the end of the original file name when I had it selected. No longer was there a pop-up, but almost immediately after selecting the install directory (IIRC it was right then), this error would arrive: Failed to install Bluestacks. error: Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length

  3. At that point I had guessed that it was the file name because it the only thing that had changed between the two install attempts other than being separate downloads; the error message also sounded like the installer was looking for something that wasn't there. So with that in mind... I changed the file name of the second download to exactly the original file name and it installed and apparently works quite well so far that I can see.

Here are the file names of the attempts to install:

  1. BlueStacks2_native (1)

  2. BlueStacks2

  3. BlueStacks2_native

(First time posting on here, searched Google and found other people with the same problem, found no solutions, searched here and didn't find anything either, so registered to share my hypothesis with you folks. I hope this helps in some way.) :)

Method 3:

Method 4:Manually uninstalling the program

Advanced users

Note The following steps are appropriate for advanced users only.
You may be able to manually uninstall some parts of the program through the Windows interface. For example, you may be able to manually delete program files and folders. Because the steps to do this can be very different, depending on the version of Windows that you have and the program that you are trying to uninstall, no prescriptive steps are provided in this article to do this. If you are not familiar enough with the program that you are trying to uninstall to positively identify the files and folders for that program, we do not recommend that you try this method. Generally, when you begin to manually delete program files and folders, you run the risk of damaging your operating system. This step should be followed at your own risk.
If you are considering manually uninstalling the program, the following are some things that you should remember:

  • You should make every effort to uninstall the application through traditional means before you follow this step. For example, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
  • Before you follow this step, you should create a system restore point.
  • Before you get started, move any personal data or documents that may have ended up in the application’s install folder. For example, move them to the Documents folder.
  • If you cannot manually delete a program file, this could mean that the file is being used or that some other program is accessing the file and not letting you delete it. For example, an antivirus software may be accessing the file. When an antivirus software is accessing a program file and making it impossible to delete a file, it is likely that this same antivirus software was keeping you from uninstalling the program by using more traditional means.
How to troubleshoot problems that may occur when you install, uninstall, or upgrade a program on a Windows-based computer

Also refer the below article.

a) Open the directory where the program is installed,(Eg: For Windows Media player, By default, it is C:Program FilesWindows Media player).
b) You will see a file named “Install.log” in there.
c) Move (cut and paste somewhere else) the “install.log” to say an empty new folder in desktop (first create a new folder and then paste the install.log into it).
d) Now, double click the un-installer (uninstall.exe).
e) It will ask you to open the installation log. Locate to the “install.log” file on your desktop.
f) Now, uninstall will work fine and you can un-install the program.
Thanks and Regards
